Forty percent of Nigerians live in poverty: stats office

rumex - 4 années depuis
Although the Nigerian economy has not been out of the woods since the 1980s, the present state of the economy is even more precarious than normally usual. While the Federal Government currently paints a picture of economic boom and prosperity with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate of 7%, the realities of the economic situation are far from rosy to put it mildly. The disparity between the rich and poor-has never in the history of this country been so large. The hardships some of the citizens go through on a daily is grueling and living standards for millions have dropped to an all-time low. So how can the Federal Government say we are growing at a dramatic rate, when it is evident from all the social indexes, that people are worse off today than they were a year ago?
